Hello, Noemi Flowers family! 🌸

It’s the perfect time to thank that extraordinary woman who has been a source of light, strength, and unconditional love in our lives. At Noemi Flowers, we want to help you make this day unforgettable with fresh, elegant floral arrangements full of meaning.

When is International Mother’s Day celebrated in 2026?

  • United States, Mexico, Canada, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Chile, Brazil, and many other Latin American countries: Sunday, May 10, 2026. In Mexico, it’s traditionally celebrated on May 10 (this year it falls on a Sunday—perfect for a big family gathering!).
  • Spain and some European countries: the first Sunday in May → Sunday, May 3, 2026.

Whatever the date in your country, what matters is taking a special moment to celebrate Mom. At Noemi Flowers, we prepare in advance to ensure your gift arrives fresh and on time.

The touching story behind Mother’s Day

Modern Mother’s Day was born from the heart of Anna Jarvis, a woman who never had children but wanted to honor her mother forever, Ann Reeves Jarvis.

Ann was an activist who cared for soldiers on both sides during the American Civil War and promoted public health and reconciliation. When Ann died in 1905, Anna dedicated her life to creating a day to recognize the sacrifice and love of all mothers.

She organized the first official celebration in 1908 in Grafton, West Virginia, and fought until 1914, when President Woodrow Wilson proclaimed the second Sunday in May as Mother’s Day in the United States.

Anna Jarvis chose the white carnation as the official symbol: it represented the purity of a mother’s love and was her mother’s favorite flower. Over time, pink carnations came to symbolize gratitude and enduring love.

Although Anna later opposed excessive commercialization, today we know that a heartfelt gift—like a beautiful bouquet of flowers—remains one of the loveliest ways to say, “Thank you, Mom.”
